Fanjols - As good as live!
Fanjols – As good as live!
The Host City Cape Town will host 8 games including a semi-final during the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa. However, if you can't get tickets to Cape Town Stadium, some of the games will be screened live on giant outdoor screens at Public Viewing Areas (PVAs) or Fanjols ( “jol” is a Western Cape term for a good time or a party) sponsored Provincial Government of the Western Cape. These Fanjols will be held in Beaufort West, Vredenburg, Bredasdorp, Pacaltsdorp and Worcester.
The Fanjols offer much more than just television viewing opportunities. They promise fun all-day activities for the whole family that include various cultural, sporting, musical, entertainment and education and development activities.
The Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport has already hosted a number of these Fanjols in various districts and enjoyed a tremendous amount and support from communities.
