Provincial Government launches “My 2010 School Adventure” competition

The Provincial Government of the Western Cape is inviting schools to participating in the exciting “My 2010 School Adventure” competition open to boys and girls in the under 12 and under 16 age groups.

The competition has two parts where pupils can participate and represent their schools.  These are “My soccer adventure 2010” where selected pupils will represent their school in 5-a-side football tournament and “My culture adventure 2010” where pupils are invited to create an exhibition of a preselected country which will be participating in the World Cup and interpret various cultural information they can gather on that country.

Finals for the 5-a-side tournament will be played at the Fanjols (the Provincial Government's public viewing areas during the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa) on June 16 2010 where the winning exhibition will also be displayed.

Information packs have already been distributed to all schools in the Western Cape pupils stand a chance to win fantastic prizes for themselves and their schools. Prizes included tracksuits and goodie bags for the participants and library books and a computer for the school.
